GirlGuiding is the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK. We helped develop an identity, support materials and even a new badge for a programme to improve resilience and mental well-being.
Girlguiding, together with YoungMinds, wanted to develop a programme to help girls and young women build their resilience and improve their mental wellbeing, which could be delivered by peer educators.
Mental health concerns
Schools, families, friendships can all add to the stresses of normal day-to-day life. The 2015 Girls Attitudes Survey showed that mental health is a concern for girls even from the age 7.
- 62% of girls aged 11 to 21 know a girl their age who has experienced a mental health problem.
- 46% of girls aged 17 to 21 have personally needed help with their mental health.
The new resource was developed in response to these concerns.
Our role involved creating a name, a distinctive identity and support materials which included a new Girlguiding badge, a Peer Educators’ Guide and Activity Book.
